The Long Paddock, Liverpool Plains Australia - Art on Glass Open Edition
This is something us city folk don't see very often. Cattle on the "Long Paddock". The long paddock is a travelling stock route, many have been in place for well over 100 years. In this case the paddock ran between the boundary fences of some fodder crops with the road and the rail line in between.
In the morning light I came across two stockman, one on horseback the other at camp with I am guessing about 1000 head of cattle covering maybe 500-600m stretch of road.
The mounted stockman had a second horse in hand and half a dozen dogs to help him round up the stray cattle.
On the road between Caroona & Spring Ridge, in the Liverpool Plains one of Australia's most important food bowls.
