A pop up show, art sale and more...

A gnarly Snow Gum crusted in some unique ice.

Tomorrow (Friday 21 August) I open a pop up show at the Hunter Honey Hive, this new honey tasting room will be in back of the General Store at Hunter Valley Gardens. The Honey Hive will be a great place to visit while in the vineyards, they open in mid September.

But before the Honey Hive opens we are taking over the space for 10 days from Friday 21 to Sunday 30 August. I will have a bunch of framed prints, all are 25% off until the end of the month, a few Art on Glass prints, plus some of my cards available for sale.

I will be in the general store Friday, Saturday and Sunday of both weeks between 9am and 5pm so pop in, say hi and check out some of my art. All of the framed art is available to take home with you. Art on Glass prints available are made to order, delivered to your door in 3-4 weeks.

I have just returned from a family holiday in the NSW snowfields. It was a great chance to introduce both my boys to skiing. While at the end of day one we weren't sure if they were going to take to the skiing.

By the end of the week they were both having a ball and needed to be dragged off the snow each day after more than eight hours of skiing. I guess this means we will be going back.

For me it was a return after at least 20 years off the slopes and I picked it back up quickly although my knees aren't as young as they used to be. Importantly I managed to get some great shots over the course of the week including some on the slopes.

On of my new, as yet un-named prints featuring the distinctive Snow Gums.

I will be releasing the new snow pics in the coming weeks, once we find names for each of them so if you have any suggestions for these two be sure to email me and let me know, I love getting feedback for naming prints. I am currently thinking there will be ten or so new prints from the Kosciuszko region.

Our clearance art sale is progressing well and isn't restricted to those in the exhibition. We have 25% off all framed fine art print stock, only until Monday 31 August so don't miss out if you want to pick up a bargain artwork.

If you want more info, please call me on + 61 449 105 295 or email me john@johnlechnerfineartprints.com.au I always enjoy chatting.

Do you own a business or are involved in a community or sports group that utilises cleaning supplies in the Hunter Region?

Our friends at Fast Cleaning Solutions are currently running a promotion that means when you spend over $150 on any of their supplies, they have a HUGE variety, you get an entry to go into the drawer to win a 900mm Art on Glass Shoal Bay Glory valued at $840.

So if you need supplies, call them today on 1300 131 121 or drop in to their showroom at 46 Sandringham Avenue, Thornton. You can see the prize on the wall in the showroom.

While I was in the snow I had a couple of minutes to shoot a quick video about taking photos in the snow. I was a little breathless, sorry. I was a bit excited and had been skiing downhill before I saw this spot. Ended up I shot past it so had to trudge back up the hill.

Thing is this is when I am at my happiest, finding these magical places and capturing them. The raw beauty of nature is my favourite thing.

Finally before I finish up, I did a blog earlier this week about Air New Zealand's safety videos. They are masters at both getting your attention and making these otherwise dry videos fun. If you missed it, check it out here.
