I can honestly say I wonder where the last month has gone. So much has happened, it is both exciting and daunting.
I also had some really awesome news to share, but sadly before I even got to share it, it was put on hold. I guess I will start there.
To have our own gallery has been an ambition of mine for a long time and recently we had the opportunity to make it a reality thanks to Renew Newcastle.
Sadly as is the nature of these things before we even got the keys to this amazing space in Newcastle, we lost it. It was a blow but at the same time I see things as happening for a reason so just need to move on. It is only a delay not the end of the dream.
We have a pop up exhibition planned out at Pokolbin in the General Store at Hunter Valley Gardens for the end of August. A friend of mine Dale is the new owner of the General Store and offered me the chance to do a mini show out there and I jumped at the chance. It will run 21 to 30 August so if you are in wine country in late August come and check it out.
A couple of weeks ago I did the Newcastle Home Show. Wow, that was exciting we opened the door to a bunch of opportunities including some really cool products featuring my art including shower walls, pool fences, coffee tables and much more. If you are looking to make an impact in a space with a totally unique feature, give me a call on 0449 105 295 we can do some awesome stuff with glass.
There is much more but lets dive into the rest and I will get to it.

Snow Cone, from the Barrington Tops. (add links)
A few weeks ago now, I took a last minute decision to make a run up to the snow that was in the Barrington National Park. I spent most of the day in the car for about one hour of shooting but it was so worth it. The whole time I was in the mountains it snowed and quite heavily. To see the Aussie bush dusted with snow was just breathtaking.
I felt so privileged to be able to chase the snow, I was in pure photographers heaven. So far I have four prints now available from that trip and there may even be one or two more. Snow cone (above) is my favourite, a banksia in bloom covered in snow.
By the time this blog is out I will be down in the Snowy Mountains with my family, for my boys it will be their first time in the snow, I am really excited for them. For me, I just hope my old knees can handle the skiing. Fingers crossed I come back with a few more magical snow pics to add to the collection.
Last weekend I spent a couple of days focusing on the business and part of that time was on our goals and also refining our vision. The vision for John Lechner Art is one I am proud of and very happy to share with everyone.
5 years from now....
Without you though our vision is just a bunch of words. The team behind me which is my customers, my supporters, my friends and family is what will help our vision become a reality.
In the last 18 months, I can't believe we have only been going for such a short time feels much longer, I have learned a lot about small business and how artists can get it right and wrong. I really do believe already that we have much to contribute to helping other artists grow there businesses. Don't get me wrong, I still have a lot to learn but we are going in the right direction.
I wanted to finish today with a SUPER SPECIAL!
