Since our inception in March 2014 we have donated $12,419 in art to 10 different causes and that is just the start.
Most of my professional career has been in the not for profit sector. I did the 40 hour famine in primary school raising over $80 and it hasn't stopped since.
While in high school, university and beyond I was actively involved in Ronald McDonald House as a volunteer and as a volunteer fundraiser. Along the way I ended up at the Australian Red Cross spending nearly five years there ending as the Manager of the Red Cross Calling Appeal in NSW.
I moved on to head up the fundraising efforts of the State Library of NSW before taking a hiatus from the sector for a few years.
When I moved to the Hunter Valley in 2007 I joined The Mai-Wel Group which continued until just a few months ago when I left to pursue my dream of running a successful arts business.
Recently I have donated a bunch of pieces to support causes and things I am passionate about. I started writing them down and thought to myself WOW! We have made an impact.
We have donated $12,419 in artwork to these wonderful causes:
- The Mai-Wel Group
- Fred Hollows Foundation
- Leukaemia Foundation
- Sydney International Eventing
- Road to Rio - Christine Bates
- Cure Cancer Australia Foundation
- Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service
- Carrie's Place
- Harry's House
I know this is just the start and I am very proud to have been able to support such wonderful causes. One of my proudest moments was when one of my pieces sold for nearly triple its retail price raising money for HMRI last year.
